What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive Technician position at Unique Specialty & Classics, Inc?
Full-time Automotive Technician Position - We offer a chance to work with vehicles most people only dream about, competitive wages and a positive work environment.
Hours will be Monday - Friday 8a.m. - 5p.m. and a Saturday rotation 9a.m. - 4p.m. with all other technicians.
Automotive Technician - Summary
Functions as a skilled-level technician who can perform diagnoses and repairs in all areas.
Automotive Technician - Essential Duties
- Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership standards.
- Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair.
- Communicates with the shop foreman to obtain needed parts.
- Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
- Communicates with shop foreman immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
- Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
- Road tests all vehicles.
- Report’s machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
- Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies shop foreman immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
- Keeps shop area neat and clean.
- Uses care with dealership-owned tools and returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.
- Understands, and complies with federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
- Completes a safety inspection on every vehicle and goes through in detail with the shop foreman.
- Uses proper safety equipment while working on vehicles
This position does require use of your own tools.
We are a growing collector car dealership based in Mankato, MN.
Our salary is flexible and based on experience and job knowledge. Opportunity to receive a month efficiency bonus after 90 day probationary period.
