Position Overview:
The Store Development Management & Control Assistant Manager is a key support role within the Store Development, responsible for ensuring project governance, financial oversight, procurement management, and reporting.
The role’s success is driven primarily by strong execution, diligence, and follow-through. While a solid understanding of project finance is important, the core of this position is making sure tasks get done, deadlines are met, and processes are enforced. The coordinator works closely with Real Estate, Design & Construction teams, Finance, and GHQ to maintain transparency, accountability, and process discipline.
Job Responsibilities
PMO & Project Governance
- Support PMO framework, tracking standards, and governance processes
- Maintain centralized visibility of project timelines and key milestones
- Monitor updates provided by Real Estate and Design/Construction teams
- Send reminders and follow up to ensure timely status updates
- Consolidate project information to ensure transparency and reporting consistency
- Escalate schedule risks or delays to management as needed Organize department meetings and track action items to ensure accountability
- Assist the Department Head in strengthening project governance and process discipline
Project Finance & Capex Oversight
- Track Capex spending across development projects
- Support cost control and variance analysis
- Prepare and maintain Final Feasibility Study (FSS) documentation
- Consolidate and prepare financial and Capex reports for leadership and Headquarters
- Assist in planning and tracking departmental budgets, including travel
Procurement & Systems Management
- Support PO creation, tracking, and Goods Receipt (GR) processing
- Monitor Coupa-related KPIs and system workflows
- Manage vendor onboarding and data maintenance
- Maintain project-related data in Airtable and Lucernex
Reporting, Analysis & Database Management
- Maintain store development master database
- Prepare recurring and ad-hoc reports to support decision-making
- Develop analytical reports related to project performance, financials, and operations
- Build and enhance internal tracking tools to improve efficiency and visibility
Cross-Functional & GHQ Coordination
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure data consistency and process alignment
- Support communication and reporting to Tokyo Headquarters
- Ensure timely delivery of required documentation and updates
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Project Management, or related field preferred
- Experience: 1–3 years in PMO support, project coordination, financial oversight, or development operations
- Skills & Competencies: Exceptional execution and follow-through; ability to drive tasks to completion with accountability
- Highly diligent, detail-oriented, and responsible
- Solid understanding of finance, budgeting, or Capex principles
- Advanced Excel and analytical skills
- Strong organizational and prioritization abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills
- Experience with Coupa, Airtable, or Lucernex is a plus
- Japanese language skills preferred
Salary: $82,000 - $106,000
