Hardware Specialist
Location & Schedule:
- Location: On-site at 1214 West 6th St., Austin, Texas
- Hours: 4- 10 hour shifts - Friday through Monday, 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated on-site Hardware Specialist in Austin. This role is primarily focused on the physical assembly and preparation of essential hardware components, including terminals, mounting brackets, and card readers. This position plays a key role in ensuring hardware is prepared accurately, on time, and in alignment with internal processes. The Specialist will also provide weekend operational coverage to support system performance and assist with escalated issues as needed.
Core Responsibilities:
- Hardware Assembly & Preparation:
- Accurately assemble terminals, integrating card readers and all necessary hardware into protective cases according to technical specifications.
- Prepare and stage all printers and cash drawers for outbound shipping.
- Conduct monthly cycle counts and formally enter the inventory data into Shopify.
- Documentation & Inventory:
- Document and track the serial numbers for all iPads and card readers within the system.
- Operational & Field Support:
- Provide essential weekend coverage for system operations to support the timely resolution of escalated issues.
- Offer on-site field support as needed (estimated 1–3 venues per month).
- Undertake additional tasks and projects as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Professional Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to execute tasks accurately the first time
- Highly communicative, with a tendency to proactively share updates and ask questions
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines consistently
- Self-starter who takes ownership and can work independently with minimal supervision
- Positive attitude with willingness to support both in-office and field operations
- Technical Aptitude:
- Comfort with basic computer systems and ability to quickly learn new software platforms
- Prior experience with hardware, assembly, or technical environments is a plus
Pay: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour
