What are the responsibilities and job description for the Upstairs Clothing Associate/Floater position at Union Mission Ministries, Inc.?
Purpose: To assist in the daily operations of the upstairs store when, where, and as
needed.
Duties:
- To perform tasks that are necessary to prepare for the display and sale of merchandise.
- To price, hang and sort clothing as instructed.
- To appropriately deal with customers and donors in a public setting.
- Prepare shoes, purses, linens, and other items for display.
- Back-up cashier.
- Vacuuming and cleaning of sales floor.
- Other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
- Volunteer criteria – you cannot volunteer in the department you are working in.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must be able to work well with people and be prepared to deal with potentially difficult individuals from time to time.
- Basic knowledge of clothing brands and prices.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment or for cause drug test and background check.
- This job will require occasional lifting of 30 pounds or more, as well as bending, stretching, twisting and other physical activities.
- You cannot volunteer in the department you are working in.
Credentials and Experience:
- High school graduate or the equivalent.
- Experience working with people or in a retail setting is preferred.
