This position is open to both CMA’s or LPN’s to apply.

Essential Job Duties:

1.   Procurement and receipt of Vaccines for Children (VFC) for all ambulatory clinics providing VFC to patients. 
2.   Prepare for annual VFC survey and ensure all pertinent documents are accurate. 
3.   Complete required CE annually. 
4.   Participate in project-related conference calls, meetings, and training sessions as required by the Department of Health 
5.   Perform compliance audits via CHIRP and Cerner; decrement or increase inventory as applicable (requires significant detail and time). 
6.   Be an active participant in quality improvement projects implemented by the Department of Health VFC program 
7.   Update VIS statements as necessary. 
8.   Coordinate quality improvement projects within participating ambulatory clinics that align with initiatives set forth by the state or Union Health for the VFC Program 
9.   Track quality data regarding immunizations and regularly communicate to leaders and clinic teams 
10. Collaborate with pharmacy informatics, data analysts, and interface analysts to ensure the accurate transfer and accounting of vaccines supplied through VFC 
11. Ensure the timely and accurate exchange of patient information between CHIRP system and the electronic medical record. 
12. Coordinate the addition of new vaccine products and assist in providing education to clinics, providers, and staff 
13. Meet with drug reps to remain current on changes within immunizations 
14. Train as a CHIRP “superuser” and function as expert for ambulatory clinics 
15. Set up new locations, providers, and staff with CHIRP access   
16. Perform annual quality improvement process with IQIP to help increase vaccine intake, including all scheduled office visits and check-ins 
17. Assist pharmacy team with inventory, ordering, and supply for commercial vaccines 
18. Collaborates with pharmacy to reduce errors by standardizing vaccine brands among VFC and Commercial supply 
19. Evaluate opportunities for individual ambulatory clinics and assist in the development and presentation of education that aligns with organizational and state goals for improvement  
20. Ensure applicable state temperature monitoring regulations are met and temperature logs submitted every two weeks. Submit action items in the event of temperature excursions. 
21. Oversight of VFC vaccines in practices, verifying VFC stock is maintained separately from other stock and administered to appropriate patient population. 
22. During times of power outage, coordinate the movement of immunizations to secure safe storage to decrease the chance of waste 
23. Collaborate with ambulatory clinic staff to confirm best practice according to state regulations for VFC program. 
24. Participate in new hire orientation to offer education and training on immunizations to clinic staff members 
25. Demonstrates appropriate conduct and positive attitude.

      ●Demonstrates initiative, adaptability and dependability in relationships with co-workers. 
      ●Communicates effectively with all members of the patient care team. 
      ●Exhibits proper hygiene and satisfactory appearance as outlined in the Employee Handbook. 
      ●Demonstrates support and acceptance for the goals and philosophy of the unit/department. 
      ●Demonstrates responsibility for own actions. 
26.Ethics 
      ●Maintains patient confidentiality. 
      ●Acts as patient advocate 
      ●Delivers care in a manner which protects client autonomy, dignity, and rights in a nonjudgmental and non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to client diversity. 
27.Demonstrates knowledge of organizational policy and procedures 
      ●Uses correct procedures and techniques in providing patient care. 
      ●Uses appropriate reference material, such as Policy Manual, Procedure Manual, MSDS sheets, etc. 
      ●Demonstrates knowledge of the use of the equipment needed for rendering direct patient care. 
28.Other duties as assigned to support patient care and office function including willingness to travel short distances to access clinics within the health system that participate in the VFC program

Certified Medical Assistant Details 

Qualifications for CMA Applicants:

  • Graduate from an accredited program for Certified Medical Assistants, Registered. Medical Assistants or Certified Clinical Medical Assistants program.
  • Must have active CMA, RMA or CCMA certificate.
  • BLS certification (AHA).
  • Previous CMA experience preferred-1year.

LPN Details

Qualifications for LPN Applicants:

  • Graduate from a one-year Practical Nursing Program.
  • Currently registered with the Indiana State Board of Nurses Registration and Nursing Education as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • BLS certification (AHA).
  • Previous LPN experience preferred-1year.
