Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and hard working Veterinary Assistant/Technician to join our animal care team. Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques.
- Handle animals safely and confidently, including dog handling, animal restraint, and animal husbandry practices to ensure comfort and safety for pets and staff alike.
- Perform laboratory tasks such as phlebotomy (blood draws), diagnostic radiology (X-ray), and other diagnostic tests to support accurate diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Administer medications and treatments following veterinary instructions while monitoring animal responses during critical & intensive care situations.
- Maintain detailed records.
- Support pet owners with pet care advice and education on animal health topics.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-2 years assistant/technician experience mandatory. Candidates with less than one year of experience will not be considered for the position.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and emergency medicine protocols is essential.
- Experience with anesthesia administration, IV insertion, vascular access techniques, and aseptic procedures is preferred.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures including phlebotomy and diagnostic radiology diagnostics is advantageous.
- Strong handling skills along with excellent animal restraint abilities are required to ensure safety during examinations or treatments.
- Ability to operate veterinary medical equipment accurately while adhering to safety standards.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
