- The Architectural and Commercial Sales Representative is part of the Commercial Sales Team. Reporting to the Commercial Sales Manager, this role is instrumental in driving product specifications and revenue growth across commercial, industrial, and municipal markets.
- The Commercial Sale Representative is a results-driven professional with strong sales, negotiation, and communication skills, and a passion for design and construction. You thrive in influencing specifications, building trusted relationships with architects, engineers, landscape architects, and contractors, and positioning Unilock as the preferred solution from concept through completion.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Consistently achieve or exceed quarterly and annual sales goals as set by the Sales Manager
- Collaborate with engineering, architectural, and landscape architectural professionals in both the private and public sectors to develop Unilock specifications
- Build, manage and maintain long -term relationships with commercial landscape contractors and key decision makers
- Deliver impactful presentations, lunch‑and‑learns, and product demonstrations to design professionals, developers, and business owners
- Advise design consultants on the appropriate selection and specifications of products, providing necessary technical support
- Serve as a trusted product advisor, recommending appropriate solutions, detailing specifications, and addressing constructability considerations
- Assist designers and project management teams in creating specification documents and technical drawings
- Collaborate with sales team members to secure product specifications and close sales
- Enter, manage and track opportunities in the Unilock CRM system from the early design stage through to final sale and installation of Unilock products
- Maintain advanced industry knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, attending seminars and conferences
- Cultivate strong relationships with design professionals, national accounts, and commercial contractors
- Represent Unilock at local trade shows, conferences, and industry functions
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of successful experience in specification‑driven sales or within the design/construction community
(Architecture, Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or related field) - Bachelor’s degree in a related field, preferably in a design capacity (education in Engineering, Architecture, or Landscape Architecture) or equivalent experience.
- Proven ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents
- Demonstrated understanding of the commercial specification and construction process
- High sense of urgency and goal-driven with a need-to-win attitude
- High level of professionalism and customer‑service orientation
- Effective presentation and written communication skills. Comfortable with public speaking
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn CRM Sales Software
- Sound critical thinking skills to manage customer objections and questions effectively
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50 pounds (For whole product samples and mock-ups)
