Route Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Route Manager to lead our transportation operations and ensure seamless delivery services. Duties

• Develop and manage efficient delivery routes using GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and GPS technology to maximize productivity and reduce costs
• Coordinate dispatching activities through transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and AS400, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries
• Oversee freight movement, shipping, receiving, and fleet management to maintain smooth logistics operations
• Utilize analysis skills to monitor route performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement process enhancements
• Manage phone call interactions with drivers, vendors, and clients using multi-line phone systems while practicing professional phone etiquette
• Maintain accurate data entry in systems like SyteLine and transportation management platforms to support reporting and decision-making
• Communicate effectively with team members through clear organizational skills, ensuring all dispatching tasks are executed efficiently
• Conduct regular vehicle inspections, coordinate maintenance schedules, and oversee 3PL (third-party logistics) partnerships to uphold safety standards

Experience

• Proven experience in transportation planning, logistics coordination, or fleet management within a fast-paced environment
• Strong familiarity with GIS, GPS devices, transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or AS400
• Demonstrated ability to analyze data related to supply chain operations for continuous improvement
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage multi-line phone systems professionally
• Experience with shipping & receiving procedures, freight handling, and warehouse operations is preferred
• Knowledge of logistics software including SyteLine or similar ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems is advantageous
• Organizational skills necessary for scheduling dispatches, managing documentation, and coordinating multiple stakeholders effectively
