Position: QC Technician, Night Shift
Location: 5918 South Highway 35, Alvin, TX 77511
Hours: Monday - Friday 18:00 - 06:00. Starting on day shift for 30 days for training purposes
Salary: $22 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
· Preparation of samples and conducting analysis using a range of analytical equipment
· Conducting capacity testing and other absorbent tests using performance test rigs
· Conducting routine QC testing of raw materials and product as required following the correct standard operating method
· Verification of the production dept. in-process testing
· Recording of results into the required templates and some interpretation of results
· Maintenance and operation of the laboratory equipment with troubleshooting
· Hazard awareness and identification
· Follows and ensures strict safety procedures and safety checks
· Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures whilst maintaining a high standard of housekeeping
· Maintenance of the retain sample library
· Performs other duties as requested by management
Required Skills and Qualifications:
· A Science Associates Degree a plus
· Experience of using analytical equipment
· The ability to learn specific, practical techniques and apply this knowledge to solve technical problems
· The ability to use technical equipment with accuracy
· The ability to maintain and calibrate technical equipment
· Time management skills in order to work on several different tasks at the same time
· Flexibility in order to work with and provide support for a number of people
· Excellent oral communication skills in order to work effectively with colleagues from all parts of the organisation and to explain complex techniques to interested parties
· Attention to detail
Preferred skills
· Experience of Leco and/or XRF
· Working knowledge of Excel
· Experience with ERP/SAP
