Pharmacy Technician – Full-time, Mon to Fri – Worthing

£14.50–£17.50 per hour depending on experience and qualifications | 34–38 hours a week over five days | Monday to Friday

A mixed role: part dispensary, part consultation room — and the clinic side grows as our services grow.

Unicare Pharmacy is an independent, owner-led pharmacy on Rowlands Road, Worthing, with a second branch planned. We already deliver Pharmacy First, hypertension case-finding, the NHS Pharmacy Contraception Service, the New Medicine Service, and flu and COVID-19 vaccination, alongside a growing private clinic (travel vaccinations, earwax removal, weight management and more). We want a registered pharmacy technician who can hold their own in a busy dispensary and take ownership of the services technicians can now deliver under PGD — so the pharmacists' time goes on Pharmacy First and prescribing.

What you'll do

• In the dispensary: dispense NHS and private prescriptions, MDS and care home work, and help lead the dispensing team day to day
• Deliver NHS flu and COVID-19 vaccinations under the national PGDs and protocols
• Deliver the NHS Pharmacy Contraception Service — oral contraception and emergency contraception consultations and supply under the national PGDs
• Run our private clinic under PGD: travel health consultations and vaccinations, private flu and other private vaccinations, and new private services as we add them
• Run the hypertension case-finding service: clinic blood pressure checks, ABPM fitting and follow-up with the pharmacist
• Own the clinical governance for services: PGD competency records, consent, cold chain and vaccine stock, anaphylaxis kit checks, service records and claims
• Train and coach the dispensers who support the services (bookings, blood pressure checks)
• Help grow the clinic: local promotion, GP practice relationships, turning enquiries into bookings
• From 10 December 2026, new supervision legislation lets a pharmacist authorise a registered technician to undertake or supervise the preparation, assembly and dispensing of medicines. We intend to use it, so the role will grow
• If you're an Accuracy Checking Technician, final accuracy checking as well — it counts towards where you sit in the pay range. If you're not, we'll fund the course when you're ready

What you need

Essential

• Registered with the GPhC as a pharmacy technician (we check the register before interview)
• Solid dispensary skills — EPS, MDS, stock control — and happy to split your week between the bench and the consultation room
• Confident consulting with patients one-to-one, and clear and accurate in what you record
• Organised enough to own a service end to end: bookings, stock, records, claims
• Either already trained to vaccinate (injection technique, with current basic life support and anaphylaxis training) or willing to complete the training — we pay for it, in work time

Desirable

• Experience working under PGDs — hospital, PCN or community
• Accuracy Checking Technician
• Travel health training
• Experience of the NHS Pharmacy Contraception Service or hypertension case-finding
• Titan PMR

What you'll get

• £14.50–£17.50 per hour. Where you start in the range depends on your experience under PGDs, your vaccination training and whether you hold the Accuracy Checking qualification
• Monday to Friday, between 9am and 6pm. 34–38 hours a week over five days — we'll agree the pattern with you. No weekends
• All service training paid for: vaccination training and annual BLS and anaphylaxis updates, travel health, CPPE PGD training, and the ACT course
