Full Compensation Package: $85,000-$125,000 DOE**
Unger Construction Co. is seeking a Project Engineer with a construction background. This is an in-person position located in Ukiah, CA. Project Engineers at Unger play a key role in driving project execution, ensuring quality, cost control, safety, and client satisfaction. Our team members are hands-on, detail-oriented, and collaborative, working closely with project leadership, subcontractors, and clients to deliver successful outcomes.
Project details
Ground-up commercial project located in Ukiah, CA. The ideal candidate will be working alongside the Superintendent and other supporting staff.
Eligibility Requirements
- Project Engineer: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Construction Project Engineer working for a general contractor or similar experience.
- No Visa Sponsorship now or in the future.
- A valid CA Driver’s License is required for this position due to daily travel requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, estimating, and scheduling
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contract drawings, specifications, and cost reports
- Prior experience working for a General Contractor (GC) is highly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project)
- Experience with construction management software such as Viewpoint, Bluebeam, CAD, Procore, or BIM (preferred)
- General Building background
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and competing demands in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative team player with leadership potential and proven leadership experience
