Responsibilities:
- Operate electronic locating equipment to guide horizontal directional drilling (HDD) operations
- Track and monitor drill head position, depth, and bore path in real time
- Communicate bore path data and adjustments to drill operators to ensure accurate installations
- Identify and avoid existing underground utilities during drilling operations
- Maintain and calibrate locating equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Document bore logs, as-built records, and field reports for each project
- Adhere to all safety protocols, OSHA standards, and site-specific requirements
- Proven experience as an HDD Locator or Directional Drill Locator in the field
- Proficiency with locating systems such as Subsite, DigiTrak, or similar technologies
- Strong understanding of underground utility installation and bore path planning
- Ability to read and interpret site plans, utility maps, and project drawings
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with drill operators and crew
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments
