Duties
- Assist with the preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning to support cooking processes.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Support chefs in assembling dishes and plating food items efficiently and accurately.
- Ensure proper storage of ingredients and supplies, monitoring expiration dates and organizing storage areas for easy access.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling of knives, hot equipment, and cleaning chemicals.
- Help with inventory management by restocking supplies and notifying supervisors of low stock levels.
- Participate in routine cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, dishwashing, and waste disposal to uphold hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely food preparation during busy service hours.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy objects safely.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
