Title: Sales Director

Compensation: $80-130k

Location: Scranton, PA / New Jersey

Work Style: Hybrid (remote leadership with strategic field presence)

About the Role

We're hiring a Sales Director to lead and scale our firefighter safety equipment division. This role owns revenue growth, market expansion, and sales execution across a distributed network of Independent Sales Representatives.

You'll set the strategy, coach the team, close high-impact deals, and build the systems that turn opportunity into predictable results. This is a high-autonomy leadership role for someone who can think big, execute hard, and win in complex municipal sales environments.

What You'll Do

Sales Strategy & Growth

  • Build and execute annual and quarterly sales strategies
  • Set revenue targets, territory plans, and KPI-driven performance goals
  • Partner with executive leadership on forecasts, budgets, and priorities

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop Independent Sales Representatives
  • Drive accountability through pipeline reviews, coaching, and deal support
  • Build a high-performance, collaborative sales culture
  • Design and implement scalable sales systems and processes

Major Accounts & Negotiations

  • Lead strategic negotiations with fire departments, municipalities, distributors, and government agencies
  • Build and maintain relationships with Fire Chiefs, procurement officers, and emergency response leaders
  • Secure long-term, profitable contracts aligned with public purchasing guidelines

Market Intelligence & Brand Presence

  • Track competitors, vendor activity, and market shifts
  • Support marketing initiatives, product launches, demos, and events
  • Represent the company at conferences, trade shows, and industry forums

Sales Operations & Reporting

  • Own CRM discipline, forecasting, dashboards, and KPIs
  • Deliver clear executive-level reporting
  • Ensure compliance with sales processes, quality standards, and policies

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 5–7 years of B2B sales experience (public safety, firefighting, industrial, or related equipment preferred)
  • Proven experience leading independent or distributed sales teams
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience with government or municipal contracts
  • Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution

Preferred

  • Experience selling to fire departments, municipalities, or emergency services
  • Familiarity with NFPA standards, UL certifications, or similar regulations
  • Existing relationships within the fire service or public safety space
