Title: Sales Director

About the Role
We're hiring a Sales Director to lead and scale our firefighter safety equipment division. This role owns revenue growth, market expansion, and sales execution across a distributed network of Independent Sales Representatives.
You'll set the strategy, coach the team, close high-impact deals, and build the systems that turn opportunity into predictable results. This is a high-autonomy leadership role for someone who can think big, execute hard, and win in complex municipal sales environments.
What You'll Do
Sales Strategy & Growth
- Build and execute annual and quarterly sales strategies
- Set revenue targets, territory plans, and KPI-driven performance goals
- Partner with executive leadership on forecasts, budgets, and priorities
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop Independent Sales Representatives
- Drive accountability through pipeline reviews, coaching, and deal support
- Build a high-performance, collaborative sales culture
- Design and implement scalable sales systems and processes
Major Accounts & Negotiations
- Lead strategic negotiations with fire departments, municipalities, distributors, and government agencies
- Build and maintain relationships with Fire Chiefs, procurement officers, and emergency response leaders
- Secure long-term, profitable contracts aligned with public purchasing guidelines
Market Intelligence & Brand Presence
- Track competitors, vendor activity, and market shifts
- Support marketing initiatives, product launches, demos, and events
- Represent the company at conferences, trade shows, and industry forums
Sales Operations & Reporting
- Own CRM discipline, forecasting, dashboards, and KPIs
- Deliver clear executive-level reporting
- Ensure compliance with sales processes, quality standards, and policies
What We're Looking For
Required
- 5–7 years of B2B sales experience (public safety, firefighting, industrial, or related equipment preferred)
- Proven experience leading independent or distributed sales teams
- Strong negotiation skills and experience with government or municipal contracts
- Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution
Preferred
- Experience selling to fire departments, municipalities, or emergency services
- Familiarity with NFPA standards, UL certifications, or similar regulations
- Existing relationships within the fire service or public safety space
