What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cashier position at UNCLE GS MGMT CORP?
Our busy East Meadow Store is seeking a PT Cashier for their front end. Cashiers are responsible for processing cash, debit, credit and check transactions using a cash register/point of purchase system. Duties include balancing the cash register, making change, recording purchases, processing returns and scanning items for sale.
Responsibilities
- Process sales transactions
- Calculate the cost of products or services
- Accept payments as indicated as acceptable payments by our SOP
- Calculate and return change when required by the payment method
- Maintain adequate change denominations in the cash drawer and request additional change
- Answer customer questions about products or services
- Reconcile cash drawers and sales receipts
Requirements
- Excellent work ethic and self motivated to provide excellent customer service
- Friendly and approachable
- Must be able to speak, read and communicate in the English language
- Able to perform basic math using a register to provide accurate change to customers
