Our Assistant Seafood Managers are responsible for the direct supervision of the Seafood Department operations including providing customer service and assuring that team associates are following company policies and procedures within the respective department.  The Assistant Seafood Manager will provide exceptional customer service to include being friendly, responsive, knowledgeable and passionate all while serving as a role model for other team members.  Responsibilities will include assisting customers with orders, working as backup to the Seafood Manager, training and scheduling staff, inventory in addition to all other Seafood Department functions. 

Responsibilities

• The Assistant Seafood Manager is responsible for assisting with the operations of our Seafood Department, including providing excellent customer service, ensuring seafood quality, presentation, merchandising, organization, pricing, stocking, etc.  
• Will be responsible for assisting with the training and scheduling of Seafood Clerk staff
• Will filet fish for order or display, set display for proper presentation, prepare seafood and ensure that ice is always replenished
• Assist all customers with their seafood questions
• Assure that all company policies and safety guidelines are adhered to at all times
• Other duties and functions as assigned

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Prior management experience in a busy seafood department.

• Hands-on experience with fish filleting, seafood preparation, cleaning, and display setup, with strong knowledge of different types of seafood.

• Ability to train, develop, and mentor team members while effectively utilizing their skills.

• Commitment to providing outstanding customer service.

• Excellent communication skills; ability to speak, read, and write in English.

• Proficiency in operating commercial kitchen equipment relevant to the seafood department.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

Working Conditions:

• Frequent movement on hard surfaces throughout the day. May require bending, climbing, crawling, pulling, reaching, or stooping to examine or handle merchandise.

• Lifting objects up to 30 pounds; heavier or awkward objects may require assistance.

• Typically works indoors in environments with moving machinery or loud equipment that may require shouting to communicate.

• Exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, or coolers.

• Occasional contact with cleaning agents.
