What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse and Delivery Support position at Unclaimed Baggage?
POSITION: Warehouse and Delivery Support
BASIC DESCRIPTION: Act as the fill-in/alternate for the Delivery Driver, as needed, by driving the box truck and making pickups, transfers, and deliveries to/from various OCS locations (UB, Men’s & More, E-commerce, LFC, WWW). Own and assist with general warehouse functions, including, but not limited to, receiving, handling, storage, and distribution of incoming shipments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
On as-needed-basis, perform the role and duties of Delivery Truck Driver, during Driver’s absence
Receive, account for, organize, and store all inbound parcel and LTL shipments.
Maintain relationship and communication with Buying Team to assist in quoting, scheduling, and receiving inbound and outbound shipments.
Assist in unloading, loading, and processing various freight as needed (i.e., car seats, strollers, donations).
Potential once per month trip to Atlanta to assist with freight pick-ups.
Maintain a clean work area and assist in sweeping/cleaning out trailers when needed.
Assist in bailing cardboard and keeping the area around the compactor clean (priority when emptied) when needed.
Assist in preparing empty trailers for future loads to be picked up.
Maintain current certification and operate the forklift as needed
Other duties as assigned by management.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to drive and back truck up to loading docks
Repetitive moderate to heavy lifting is required
Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
Must be able to work outside with different weather conditions
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED required
SCHEDULED HOURS:
40-hour week, 6:00am-2:30pm, Monday-Friday; some overtime and/or Saturdays as needed.
Potential once a month trip to Atlanta can range from 10–16-hour day
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports directly to Logistics Manager
