Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated UNC Women's Club Soccer Head Coach to lead, inspire, and develop our university’s women’s club soccer team. As the Head Coach, you will be responsible for planning practices, developing game strategies, and ensuring the overall growth of our players both on and off the field.
Duties
- Lead all aspects of team training sessions, including skill development, tactical drills, and conditioning programs.
- Develop game strategies and prepare the team for competitions against other university clubs and leagues.
- Recruit new team members by promoting the program within the campus community and organizing tryouts.
- Foster a positive team culture emphasizing sportsmanship, discipline, and personal growth.
- Oversee team logistics such as scheduling practices, games, travel arrangements, and equipment management.
- Monitor player progress through regular assessments and provide constructive feedback to enhance performance.
- Ensure compliance with university policies, safety standards, and USCCS and club sport regulations as applicable.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in sports coaching with a focus on soccer; previous experience with club or collegiate teams is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate diverse groups of student-athletes.
- Knowledge of soccer techniques, tactics, and training methods suitable for various skill levels.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with players, staff, and university officials.
- Background in teaching physical education or related fields is preferred but not required.
- Experience working with students in educational or recreational settings; familiarity with behavior management techniques is advantageous.
- Additional skills in lifeguard experience, martial arts (such as karate or judo), swimming, cheerleading, climbing, or other athletic disciplines are considered a plus to support diverse team activities.
