Participates in the repair and maintenance of 800 vehicles and pieces of motorized equipment, including UNC-owned and NC Motor Fleet vehicles. Work performed includes but is not limited to oil changes and lubrication; tune-ups; replacement of electrical system components; replacement of water, fuel, and power steering pumps; cooling system service; brake service; exhaust system repair/replacement; transmission and clutch service; complete engine overhaul; and computerized wheel balancing machine. Position also diagnoses computer-controlled systems and makes repairs that are consistent with industry standards.
* A valid North Carolina Driver's License or ability to obtain one prior to start date. Also requires a NC State Inspector's License or the ability to achieve certification within six months of hire.*
