Night Auditor

Duties

Guest Service:

• Greet guests upon arrival and assist with check-in/check-out processes.
• Provide guests with information about hotel amenities, services, and local attractions.
• Handle guest complaints and concerns with professionalism, ensuring satisfaction.
• Ensure room service orders are placed & delivered in a timely manner.
• Ensure the lobby and guest areas are clean, welcoming, and well-maintained throughout the shift.

Night Audit & Reporting:

• Perform nightly audit duties, including reconciling financial transactions and processing invoices for guests.
• Review daily reports and ensure accuracy in billing and guest charges.
• Maintain and update the hotel’s reservation system, verifying that all data is correct.
• Prepare and balance the cash drawers, verifying any discrepancies.
• Financial reconciliation support for Finance Team as needed

Security and Safety:

• Ensure the hotel’s security procedures are followed during overnight hours.
• Monitor hotel access, ensuring that only registered guests are allowed entry.
• Address any safety concerns or emergencies that arise during the night shift.

Communication and Collaboration:

• Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure guest needs are met.
• Communicate any special requests or issues to the following day’s staff for proper follow-up.
• Provide feedback to management about guest preferences, concerns, or areas for improvement.

Miscellaneous & Cleaning:

• Answer phone calls, direct inquiries, and handle guest messages.
• Assist with light concierge duties, including arranging transportation or dining reservations.
• Restock & clean public restrooms each evening
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Front Desk Manager or Hotel Manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (College degree preferred).
• Previous experience at the hotel front desk or customer service is preferred.
• Familiarity with hotel management software (e.g., Opera, RMS, Cloudbeds or similar) is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy in financial reporting.
• Must be able to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
• Availability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
• Occasionally lift or move items up to 25 pounds.
• Comfortable with prolonged computer use.
