What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Media Manager position at Unboxed Group?
Job Title: Social Media Manager
Functional Alignment: Head of Production
Classification: Full-Time, Exempt
Location: Los Angeles, CA | In-office Monday – Thursday; Remote Friday
Company Overview
Unboxed Group is a global creative agency specializing in crafting unforgettable brand experiences. Headquartered in Los Angeles, with events executed nationally, our team translates ideas into captivating narratives, seamlessly connecting imagination and reality.
Position Overview
As Unboxed Group continues to grow, we’re looking for a strategic, creatively driven Social Media Manager to own our brand’s digital presence. This role goes beyond execution - you’ll set the vision for how Unboxed shows up online, develop channel strategy, and ensure every piece of content reflects the premium, high-energy identity of our brand. The ideal candidate is an experienced social media professional who has built and scaled brand accounts, understands the nuances of luxury and entertainment marketing, and can move fluidly between big-picture strategy and on-the-ground content capture at a live event. You bring both a sharp creative eye and the analytical rigor to back up your decisions with data.
What You’ll Do:
Content Strategy & Creation
- Lead the content strategy across all platforms, defining the visual and editorial direction for Unboxed’s social presence.
- Attend high-profile events (locally and occasionally nationally) to capture premium Behind the Scenes (BTS) content and direct on-site storytelling.
- Film, edit, and produce short-form video content (Reels, TikToks, Stories) that reflects our production process and elevates our brand identity.
- Develop and maintain brand guidelines for social content, ensuring consistency across all digital touchpoints.
Social Media Management
- Own and evolve the social media strategy across Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and emerging platforms.
- Manage the content calendar, ensuring a consistent, high-quality posting cadence aligned with business priorities and campaign timelines.
- Monitor community engagement, respond to comments and DMs, and proactively identify opportunities to grow audience and brand affinity.
- Stay ahead of platform algorithm changes, emerging trends, and new features—recommending pivots when necessary.
Marketing Strategy & Reporting
- Develop and present social media strategies and campaign proposals to internal stakeholders and leadership.
- Own analytics reporting - track KPIs, synthesize insights, and translate data into actionable recommendations.
- Lead pitch deck and marketing materials development using the Google Workspace suite.
- Leverage AI tools to enhance content ideation, copywriting, and trend analysis at scale.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with the production and creative teams to align social content with upcoming projects and client deliverables.
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert on social media best practices, platform trends, and brand voice.
- Evaluate and manage relationships with external content creators or freelancers as needed.
Who You Are:
- Strategic & Data-Driven: You build content strategies grounded in performance data, not just intuition. You know how to read analytics and translate them into decisions.
- Visual Storyteller: You have a refined eye for aesthetics - framing, lighting, pacing, and brand cohesion across platforms.
- Brand-Minded: You understand the nuance of marketing a luxury creative agency. You know when to follow a trend and when to let it pass.
- Proactive Leader: You don’t wait to be told what to do. You identify opportunities, pitch ideas, and drive them forward.
- Adaptable: Whether you’re in the office or on-site at a desert festival, you bring the same level of professionalism and creative energy.
- Tech-Savvy: You leverage AI and automation tools to work smarter and faster without sacrificing quality.
Experience You Bring:
- 4 years of professional experience in social media management, digital marketing, or content strategy - preferably in entertainment, creative agency, or luxury brand environments.
- Demonstrated track record of growing brand accounts and delivering measurable results across Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
- Strong portfolio of content and campaign work for brands or clients.
- Proficiency with social media scheduling and analytics tools (Later, Sprout Social, or similar).
- Hands-on experience with video editing apps (CapCut, Adobe Premiere Rush, etc.) and Canva.
- Comfortable with regular travel to events, primarily in LA with occasional travel for out-of-state productions.
Technical Requirements:
- Google Workspace: High proficiency in Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
- Analytics: Experience with native platform analytics and/or third-party reporting tools.
- AI Tools: Strong working knowledge of ChatGPT, Gemini, or other generative AI tools for marketing applications.
- Content Capture: Expert-level mobile content capture (iPhone/iOS).
Perks & Compensation
- Pay: $85,000-$95,000 per year
- Time Off: Unlimited PTO to ensure you stay refreshed and inspired.
- Benefits: Health Insurance & 401k enrollment options.
