Youth Athletic Trainer / Coach (Volunteer, Part-Time, On-Site)

Through seasonal sports programs, skill-building clinics, and leadership opportunities, UAA seeks to develop young athletes who play with purpose, grow with honor, and carry strong values into every area of life.
UAA is seeking a part-time volunteer Youth Athletic Trainer / Coach to help lead youth training sessions and athletic development activities. This individual will support athletes in building technical sports skills, improving fitness, reducing injury risk, and developing discipline, confidence, and strong character.
This is an on-site volunteer opportunity for someone who enjoys mentoring youth, promoting healthy physical development, and contributing to a mission-centered community program.
- Lead and support youth athletic training sessions in alignment with UAA’s mission and values
- Teach proper movement, conditioning, and sport-specific fundamentals
- Promote injury prevention and safe training practices
- Monitor athlete performance, participation, and overall physical development
- Assist with age-appropriate strength, conditioning, and fitness routines
- Provide encouragement, mentorship, and positive accountability to youth participants
- Support basic rehabilitation awareness and safe return-to-activity practices when appropriate
- Help foster a respectful, encouraging, and structured team environment
- Communicate professionally with parents, volunteers, and community members
- Assist with general program organization and athlete supervision
- Knowledge of injury prevention and safe sports participation practices
- Experience in athletic training, coaching, or working with youth athletes
- Familiarity with strength and conditioning principles
- Understanding of rehabilitation and prevention techniques for athletic strain or injury
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead, motivate, and positively engage youth
- Organized, dependable, and team-oriented
- Passion for youth development and alignment with UAA’s mission and values
- First Aid, CPR, and related athletic training certifications are a plus
