Sr. Director, Accreditation, Compliance, and Accountability Academic Services and Quality Exempt Regular 3.5 Location: Adelphi, MD (Hybrid) The Senior Director, Accreditation, Compliance, and Accountability, provides strategic leadership, oversight, and direction for institutional and programmatic accreditation, regulatory compliance, and enterprise-wide accountability initiatives. This role ensures UMGC meets and exceeds accreditation, authorization, and regulatory standards while driving continuous improvement, operational excellence, and data-informed decision-making across the institution. Duties and Responsibilities: Provide strategic leadership for institutional accreditation processes, standards alignment, and long-term planning. Oversee development, implementation, and continuous refinement of accreditation-related policies and procedures. Direct preparation, submission, and quality assurance of all accreditation reports, documentation, and compliance attestations. Lead institutional readiness and logistics for accreditation reviews, evaluations, and site visits. Partner with academic and administrative leaders to guide programmatic accreditation strategies and ensure alignment with institutional standards. Oversee state authorization compliance, reporting processes, and strategic expansion planning. Lead regulatory compliance initiatives, risk mitigation practices, and institutional accountability frameworks. Supervise and mentor staff engaged in accreditation, compliance, and reporting functions. Collaborate with senior university leadership to support governance, transparency, and continuous improvement efforts. Doctoral Degree preferred. Experience: 7–10 years of progressively responsible experience in accreditation, compliance, or related roles. Demonstrated experience leading teams in higher education and managing complex institutional initiatives. Certifications: None required. All submissions should include a cover letter and resume. For part-time employees, time off rates will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. Retirement Plans: Choose between the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) or the Maryland State Retirement and Pension System (MSRPS). Supplemental Retirement Plans: include 401(k), 403(b), 457(b), and various Roth options. The university does not provide matching funds. Tuition Remission: Immediate availability for Regular Exempt Staff. Spouses and dependent children are eligible for undergraduate tuition remission after two years of service.
