Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced engineering leader to oversee new product development projects and lead the design engineers in the development and delivery of innovative medical products and customer-focused solutions.
This role blends engineering design leadership, project management excellence, and commercial and manufacturing collaboration, with a strong focus on driving solutions that meet evolving customer and compliance needs.
The Engineering Coordinator – Product Development plays a pivotal role in shaping our product roadmap, guiding engineers, and ensuring the successful execution of engineering projects on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and actively contribute to engineering projects in New Product Development—from concept through commercialization—by both guiding team efforts and directly participating in product design to ensure alignment with business goals, budgets, and timelines.
- Serve as the primary engineering point of contact for Marketing, Sales and Strategic Leadership on key customer product initiatives, working collaboratively to translate their needs into manufacturable and innovative product solutions.
- Provide technical and leadership oversight to a team of design engineers, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Present engineering concepts, progress updates, and final designs to internal leadership, cross-functional stakeholders, and customer partners.
- Lead the design, prototyping and development of products that meet clinical, regulatory, and performance requirements—including usability, regulatory, and safety standards.
- Coordinate resource planning and budgeting for project activities, optimizing time and cost efficiencies without compromising quality.
- Collaborate with marketing, quality, regulatory, and operations to bring new products to market efficiently and effectively.
- Implement robust project management practices including timelines, Gantt charts, milestone reviews, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Champion the use of structured problem-solving, design thinking, and DFMA principles to improve product performance and manufacturability.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- 8 years of experience in engineering design and product development, with at least 3 years in leadership or coordination role.
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional engineering teams and successfully managing complex projects.
- Experience working directly with marketing, sales and customers to develop tailored product solutions.
- Strong proficiency in CAD, preferably Solidworks, FEA, design for manufacturing, and product development lifecycle tools.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, timelines, and multiple engineering projects concurrently.

Preferred Experience:
- Background in medical device or healthcare equipment design and regulatory standards (e.g., IEC 60601, ADA).

- Strong business acumen and the ability to link technical solutions to strategic customer needs.
