Title: Clinic Radiology Technician
Clinic: UMC Family Medicine at West Wind
We are seeking a full-time Clinic Radiology Technician to work closely with patients when performing radiologic imagining procedures.

- 8am-6pm Monday – Thursday, 8am-12pm Friday

Essential Job Functions:
The Radiology Technician’s responsibilities include taking direction from the medical provider regarding which area of the patient’s body requires imaging, explaining the procedure and answering questions regarding the procedure, positioning and adjusting patients and equipment, following best practices such as patient shielding, obtaining diagnostic images of the patient and making any required documentation in the patient’s medical record. The Radiology Technician is also responsible for maintaining radiology supplies and/or inventory and keeping a safe and clean working environment.
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of radiologic standards and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proper judgement and ability to work independently.
- Ability to understand, calibrate and operate radiographic technology and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma
- Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology from a CAHEA-approved program required.
- Must be AART/TMB certified, MT (ASCP), MLT (ASCP), PBT (ASCP) or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of experience as a Radiology Technician
- Experience in a clinic setting
Environmental Conditions:
Works in a well-lit, heated, and ventilated building. Hours may vary to accommodate needs in the department. Exposure to blood borne pathogens is of high risk. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids. All electrical safety precautions must be used when running the instrument.
Physical Requirements:
Work is of medium demand. Standing, walking most of the time on duty. Lifting and pushing patients, carts, and wheelchairs. Adequate hand/eye coordination and find motor skills required. Good tactile sensation necessary for checking patients. Talking and hearing is essential in instructing the supervising nursing personnel and in receiving doctors’ orders and patient’s condition reports. Near visual acuity for accurate recording of patients’ charts.
