The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with public agencies and providing practical legal counsel to city departments, elected officials, boards, and commissions.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel to public agencies on municipal law and governance matters.
- Advise city departments, boards, commissions, and public officials on day-to-day legal issues.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, ordinances, resolutions, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Handle land use, zoning, planning, development, and regulatory matters.
- Conduct legal research and prepare written legal opinions.
- Attend City Council, Planning Commission, and other public meetings as required.
- Analyze legislation, regulations, and policies impacting local governments.
- Support public procurement, real estate transactions, and development agreements.
- Advise clients on compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Develop practical legal strategies and risk management solutions for public agency clients.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active member in good standing with the California State Bar.
- Minimum 5 years of experience representing public agencies.

- Experience drafting and negotiating contracts and public agreements.
- Ability to provide legal counsel directly to public agencies and government entities.
- Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Salary : $170,000 - $200,000
