Advanced Assembly, Inc. (AAI), located in University Research Park on the west side of Madison, is looking to add Material Handlers to our well-trained and experienced staff. Advanced Assembly, Inc. is an electronics manufacturing services provider of electronic assemblies and products, including the Captioned Telephone (CapTel). Our exceptional reputation has been earned through the years, based on production capability, reliability, and quality.

These full-time positions offer a either a first shift schedule of Monday – Thursday 5:30 AM – 3:00 PM and Friday 5:30 AM – 9:30 AM, or a second shift schedule of Monday - Thursday, 2:45 PM - 12:45 AM, a competitive starting wage and a full benefits package. New Employees - Sign-On Bonus: The company is offering a $1,500 sign-on bonus to newly-hired, full-time employees. The bonus will be paid on the first check following successful completion of the employee's 90-day probationary period.

Job Summary: The Material Handler is responsible for performing a wide variety of inventory handling and processing activities.  

 

Essential Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Pick and replenish Point of Use material required for production departments.
  • Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities and quality, and document any discrepancies utilizing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Perform inventory transactions in the ERP.
  • Ensure all materials are properly identified, stored, and tracked.
  • Ensure First In, First Out (FIFO) is followed.
  • Follow company Safety and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) policies.
  • Cycle count material.
  • Follow 5S practices to maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: No direct reports.

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent.
  • Previous warehouse experience preferred.
  • Basic English, math, and computer skills (e.g., Microsoft applications).
  • Detail oriented with numbers and data entry.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Organized self-starter with a positive attitude.
  • Working knowledge of QAD a plus.
  • Operate appropriate material handling equipment safely.

  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, hear and talk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
    • Ability to stand in one area for long periods of time, with minimal breaks.
    • Physical ability to move freely and have sufficient reflexes to perform the same tasks repeatedly.
    • Ability to go up and down steps.
    • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
