Stamping Machine Setter / Press Technician

Ultraform Industries is looking for a talented Stamping Machine Setter/ Press Technician to join our onsite production team in Romeo, Michigan.

Shift Availability:

Enjoy a stable 4-day work week (Monday through Thursday) with a consistent full-time routine:

• Day Shift: 5:45 AM – 4:15 PM
• Night Shift: 4:30 PM – 3:00 AM
• Weekend Availability: Overtime shifts are scheduled on Fridays and Saturdays as production demands require.

• Hourly Wages: Hourly pay open to negotiation based on your depth of industry experience.

Daily Work Responsibilities:

In this position, you will serve as a technical anchor for our press room operations, managing machine changeovers and ensuring smooth production runs:

• Die Installation: Set up line, progressive, and transfer dies in a variety of mechanical presses ranging from 50 to 660 tons.
• Material Management: Safely perform steel coil changes to keep the lines fed.
• System Layout: Properly position conveyor setups for efficient metal scrap removal.
• Line Startups & Support: Oversee press startups, monitor ongoing production runs, and coordinate directly with Tool Room specialists to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Quality Audits: Perform critical First Piece/Last Piece component inspections to confirm parts align with exact engineering tolerances.
• Data Log Tracking: Keep accurate records of shift output metrics and log any machine downtime.
• Housekeeping & Safety: Maintain a clean, organized immediate work area and strictly observe company safety guidelines in compliance with OSHA standards.

Position Requirements

• Work History: A minimum of 1 year proven experience handling machine and die setup within a production or stamping facility.
• Technical Skills (Plus): Direct familiarity or operational knowledge of servo presses is highly valued.
• Equipment (Plus): Practical experience operating an overhead crane is a distinct advantage.
• Commute: Must have reliable travel for a reasonable daily commute to our facility in Romeo, MI.
