Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing is actively seeking an experienced Senior Production & Materials Manager to join their client's dynamic team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of advanced control systems used in mission-critical manufacturing and industrial automation environments. The role involves owning material planning, shortage management, and production readiness for assigned product lines. The ideal candidate will partner closely with Program Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production to keep programs on track and customer commitments on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own material planning, production readiness, and schedule support for assigned product lines.
  • Manage MRP outputs, work order releases, and material requirements to support production schedules.
  • Lead shortage management efforts, identify root causes, coordinate recovery plans, and drive timely resolution across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Program Management, and supplier partners.
  • Balance demand, supply, and production priorities across multiple programs and build cycles.
  • Partner with Program Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production teams to ensure material readiness and on-time delivery.
  • Facilitate cross-functional decision-making and build consensus when priorities, constraints, or resource requirements conflict.
  • Communicate material risks, constraints, recovery plans, and planning recommendations to operational and leadership teams through clear, concise updates.
  • Analyze shortages, inventory health, demand signals, and planning trends using ERP/MRP systems and business intelligence tools.
  • Develop data-driven insights and executive-level summaries that support planning and operational decision-making.
  • Track planning performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve execution, material readiness, and operational efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance planning processes and support organizational growth.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field. CPIM certification is highly desirable.
  • 5 years of production planning or materials planning experience in electronics, electromechanical, semiconductor, or other high-mix manufacturing environments.
  • Strong understanding of MRP systems, work order management, inventory control, and material flow.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools used to support planning and operational decision-making.
  • Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems and business intelligence/reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence stakeholders, build alignment across functions, and communicate effectively with leadership and executive audiences.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across Program Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production organizations.
  • Experience owning planning responsibilities for complex products, programs, or portfolios.
  • Proven success managing competing priorities, exercising sound judgment, and delivering results in dynamic environments with evolving processes and incomplete information.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify root causes, implement practical solutions, and drive continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background supporting semiconductor equipment, electronics manufacturing, or other high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Experience planning for complex electromechanical assemblies and long-lead-time components.
  • Exposure to new product introductions (NPI) and transitioning products into production.
  • Familiarity with demand planning processes, production readiness activities, and material shortage mitigation in complex manufacturing environments.

Additional Details

Max Pay: $140,000
Min Pay: $90,000

Salary : $90,000 - $140,000
