Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking a motivated Freight Forwarder (Customer Service / Logistics Specialist) to join their client's team in the Baltimore area. This entry-level position offers an exciting opportunity within the logistics and supply chain industry, supporting the coordination of international and domestic shipments. Working closely with the Commercial team, the role focuses on managing customer contracts and relationships to ensure smooth logistics operations.
- Assist in the coordination and execution of freight forwarding operations.
- Support the Commercial team in managing customer contracts and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation for shipments.
- Communicate with global offices to support international logistics needs.
- Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve any issues.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrate skills and willingness to grow into positions of greater responsibility
- Organize payments or process transactions on behalf of the client, such as freight charges, demurrage/detention charges, duties, and others.
- Highly motivated with a strong team-oriented mindset.
- Prior experience in freight forwarding or customer service is preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software is a plus.
- Good knowledge of Office systems like Excel, MS Word, and SAP or compatible ERP systems is a plus.
- Ability to conduct business discussions in English; foreign language skills are a plus.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in customer service functions.
- Background in logistics including forwarding, customs formalities, FTZ, warehousing, shipping, and stevedoring.
- Familiarity with the commodity industry.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as a "self-starter."
- Stress-resistant and able to work under pressure.
Monday to Friday, first shift.
Competitive salary ranging from $51,000 to $55,000 per year.
