About the Role
Ultimate Staffing is seeking an experienced, hands‑on Director of Human Resources to lead our client's HR function and serve as a strategic partner to their CEO. This individual will oversee all aspects of Human Resources-including recruitment, compensation analysis, onboarding, retention, training & development, performance management, employee relations, payroll oversight, and separation procedures.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Serve as a strategic HR advisor to the CEO and leadership team, driving HR initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
- Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and programs that support company growth, culture, and operational needs.
- Analyze HR metrics and trends to recommend proactive workforce strategies.
HR Operations & Management
- Lead all functional HR areas including recruitment, compensation, benefits, training, compliance, and employee relations.
- Oversee payroll processes to ensure accuracy and timely execution (in partnership with Finance/payroll provider).
- Manage and mentor a small HR team, providing clear direction, coaching, and professional development.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Lead full‑cycle recruitment efforts and identify opportunities to enhance employer brand and hiring processes.
- Develop efficient, engaging onboarding programs to improve new‑hire readiness and long‑term retention.
Compensation, Benefits & Compliance
- Conduct compensation analysis and market benchmarking to support competitive and equitable pay practices.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Review, administer, and optimize benefit programs.
Employee Experience, Retention & Culture
- Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives focused on culture, retention, and continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance on employee relations issues and support managers with performance coaching.
Training & Development
- Create and oversee learning and development programs to enhance leadership capability and employee skillsets.
- Implement performance management processes that support growth and accountability.
Offboarding & Separation
- Oversee employee separation procedures, ensuring consistency, compliance, and professionalism.
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze trends to improve retention strategies.
Qualifications
- Minimum 8-10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years managing direct reports in a leadership role.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (required).
- Proven success in a hands‑on leadership role, preferably within a small to mid‑sized organization.
- Strong knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to balance strategic planning with operational execution.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
