• In partnership with Senior Merchant, develop and implement merchandising strategies to achieve the financial and strategic objectives of the category and enterprise (sales, margin, turn)
• Lead and maintain relationships with brands through terms negotiations, exclusivity, assortments, and marketing activations. Establish a strategy for enhancing profitability and phasing out underperforming brands
• Create a high-quality, innovative and competitive omni-channel assortment by expanding our core business, boosting newness, and creating differentiation.
• Stay on top of trends, consumer behavior, and competitive activity 
• ​Partner with Senior Merchants and MP&I on the financial and profitability strategy of portfolio of brands, making financially sound business decisions and assistants with the execution of financial plans
• Successfully partner with marketing and operations to deliver a seamless omnichannel experience, bringing our vision to life and engaging our guests
• Identify promotional products in-store and advise brand planograms. Coordinate the planogram process with internal teams and vendors
• Foster a team culture that is results-oriented and exemplifies a team mentality that aligns to Ulta Beauty’s Values, Mission and Vision 

 

• 4 years of professional, relevant experience within merchandising, planning or inventory
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred
• Brand relationship management: creating and sustaining strong business partnerships that maximize the value of the brand and Ulta Beauty. This includes the skill of negotiation
• Influence and communications; grounded in analytical rigor, expertise, and a set of soft skills that inspire alignment
• Financial acumen: understanding of a brand and company P&L and the drivers of profitability
• Assortment management: combines art and science to ensure competitiveness and sustainable improvement
• Business acumen: ability to understand a business situation (risks, opportunities) and utilizes/applies strategy, finance and operations to navigate those situations
• Collaboration: strong partnership with internal partners, understands that success is done by a team of people
• Planning and prioritizing: ability to stay organized in a fast-moving business
• MS office: demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, including Excel (v look-ups and formulas)
• Passion for brands, products and assortment development
• Curiosity: learns continuously from merchants and senior merchants, asks questions openly, shares insights
• Mindset that emphasizes teamwork

 

The pay range for this position is $66,200.00 - $86,000.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
