Ulland Brothers, Inc., is a Civil/Highway-Heavy, aggregate and site development contractor with offices in Carlton, Virginia and Albert Lea, MN. Ulland Brothers has operated in the construction industry for over 100 years. Ulland Brothers has an immediate opening for the position of Assistant Project Manager/Engineer Internship.
Primary Function:
The Superintendent is primarily responsible for project safety, management, and leadership to complete our projects on time and within budget. This position will assist the Superintendent in their daily duties and tasks, this role will report to the site Superintendent. This is a safety sensitive position requiring drug testing.
Typical duties to assist with:
- Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with safety rules, construction specifications, and other regulations.
- Direct and supervise workers.
- Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, work orders, complaints, and construction problems.
- Provide project managers with accurate information on job productions, quantities, and costs.
- Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet completion dates.
- Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out.
- Manage subcontractor performance and compliance.
- Represent Ulland Brothers in a professional manner and maintain a good relationship with owners, inspectors, and the general public.
- Perform additional assignments as requested including ongoing in person or online training.
Qualifications
- Valid Interest in pursuing a career in Construction/Project Management
- General Knowledge of construction principles/processes
- Preferred experience in OSHA, MSHA, and DOT requirements
- Positive, Team-Oriented Attitude
- Communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Attention to details and time management skills
- Ability to use email, word processing and spreadsheets
