UIC is seeking a Medical Education Program Specialist to join our College of Medicine, Department of Medicine - Division of Gastroenerology & Hepatology team. This role will coordinate all educational programs, (i. e. Medical student, fellowship, residency, sponsored programs in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Department of Medicine.

- Plans, organizes and assists in conducting multi-segmented orientation for medical education program participants, this includes, fellows, residents, students and other physicians.
- Assures that the fellowship program remains accredited. The employee works closely with the Director and prepares reports to assist in the determination of the effectiveness and appropriateness of the practices relating to the fellowship program.
- Administration of “New Innovations” application (this includes rotational schedule, call schedule, attendance to conferences and evaluations.
- Coordinates the scheduling of preceptorships, subspecialties, and educational blocks based on participants, with responsibility for accuracy and completeness of records in accordance with accreditation standards.
- Coordination of the Fellowship Program at multiple training institutions.
- Coordinate annual internal reviews of the Fellowship Program. This is a requirement for the 5 year review by the ACGME accreditation.
- Responsible for the resolution of problems relating to licensures, visa clearances: and recruitment of participants for section sponsored programs. This may require coordination with Graduate Medical Education office and Medical Staff Services as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
