Position Summary
Planning, Sustainability and Project Management (PSPM) at UIC seeks a Sustainability Communications Graduate Hourly Employee to support outreach and engagement efforts that advance campus sustainability initiatives. Under the direction of the Assistant Vice Chancellor and Director of Sustainability, the Graduate Hourly will develop content for social media, print materials, and the monthly PSPM sustainability newsletter Greenlights, in coordination with OVCAS Communications. The position will also assist with preparing outreach materials and representing PSPM at campus and community events. All work requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and timely execution of project deliverables to effectively promote UIC's sustainability goals.
Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare social media posts for scheduled PSPM and related campus sustainability events. Submit these for approval to OVCAS Communications according to an agreed upon timeline.
Prepare hard copy fliers and other visual collateral for campus communication on post it boards and approved signage.
Prepare content for the monthly PSPM sustainability newsletter called “Greenlights”. Arrange the content and publish via the email tool Emma with approval and support of OVCAS Communications.
Represent PSPM at community outreach events by preparing table materials for distribution and familiarizing with basic Q&A related to PSPM.
Perform other duties as needed to support the sustainability goals of PSPM.
All tasks require attention to detail land timely execution of project content. Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
