(Sr.) Manager of Commercial Finance

A great UHY client is seeking a (Sr.) Manager of Commercial Finance. The ideal candidate will have 8–10 years of relevant Finance/FP&A experience, strong budgeting and forecasting expertise, and the ability to translate financial and operational data into actionable business insights. Retail, Consumer Products, or Durable Products experience is highly desirable.

The (Sr.) Manager of Commercial Finance role is a hybrid position based in Monroe, MI. This is a direct hire position.

(Sr.) Manager of Commercial Finance Responsibilities

• Lead the creation, analysis, and communication of Retail division financial statement forecasts, including P&L and Balance Sheet forecasts for monthly, quarterly, Annual Operating Plan, and 5-year planning cycles.
• Lead trend analysis and the monthly sales goal-setting process, including allocation to the store level.
• Partner with Retail Accounting, Commercial Finance, and S&OP teams to research variances between actual results and forecasts and identify opportunities for business improvement.
• Partner with executive management to establish financial goals and KPIs, measure divisional performance, and identify, evaluate, and communicate risks and opportunities.
• Analyze divisional data and KPIs to develop insights and recommendations that support business improvement and value creation.
• Own Retail division capital appropriation requests, including financial analyses such as IRR and NPV to support business cases.
• Conduct post-audits of capital projects to evaluate actual results against original ROI analyses.
• Partner with the Real Estate team to develop short- and long-term investment plans, including store conversions, relocations, new stores, and closures.
• Provide financial analysis for investments, marketing plans, product pricing, compensation structures, and other strategic initiatives, including ROI, NPV, elasticity, and diminishing returns analyses.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on business strategies and plans, including pricing strategy, eCommerce, merchandising, promotional plans, store format evaluations, and store productivity.
• Prepare financial analyses and supporting materials for monthly reporting and quarterly business reviews with the Executive Team.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and strengthen the Finance and analytical capabilities of the Retail division.
• Lead, develop, and support a team of 1–2 direct reports.
• Perform other financial analyses, special projects, and duties as needed.

(Sr.) Manager of Commercial Finance Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required, with 8–10 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong FP&A experience with demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and business partnering.
• Retail, Consumer Products, or Durable Products experience highly desirable.
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency, including strong PowerPoint skills.
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, including experience with ROI, IRR, NPV, and other investment analysis.
• Experience analyzing financial and operational data and translating findings into actionable business recommendations.
• Strong understanding of P&L and Balance Sheet forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning.
• Experience with an accounting ERP and consolidation system preferred, particularly JDE or Planful.
• Experience with a data analytics platform preferred, particularly DOMO.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across multifunctional teams and influence business decisions.
• Comfortable taking ownership of projects, identifying opportunities, and driving continuous improvement.
• Up to 10% travel required.
