What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interim Nonprofit Controller position at UHY LLP?
A great client at UHY is seeking a Controller. The ideal candidate will have nonprofit accounting experience, strong financial reporting expertise, and experience leading accounting teams.
The Controller role is a hybrid position, with 3 days each week being onsite. This is a contract position with the potential of going permanent.
Controller Responsibilities
- Oversee accounting and financial reporting for programs and affiliated entities
- Prepare and present financial reports to executive leadership and key stakeholders
- Establish and monitor financial goals to ensure organizational strength, compliance, and efficiency
- Collaborate with senior leadership, external partners, and stakeholders including banks, vendors, and funders
- Lead and manage the accounting team, ensuring effective operations and performance
- Adapt financial strategies to support a dynamic and evolving environment
Controller Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or Master’s degree preferred
- 7 years of experience as a Controller or in a similar leadership role
- Experience in the nonprofit sector strongly preferred
- Experience managing a team of 8 employees
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
