Your position goals and objectives include:

• Manages the functions in the discharge assembly, analysis, and filing of records. 

• Under direction f the Director, supervisors the day-to-day operations of department and management of departmental staff

• Reviews reports for accuracy 

• Supports the Director in maintining oversight and facilitation of HIM committee and functions.
• Serves as liaison between department and hospital business office in regard to coding and UB92’s.
• Serves as Facility coder with a required overall accuracy rate of 95%.

Your qualifications and experience will include:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED

Experience: Two years' of experience as a coder with Medical Records preferred

Licensure/Certification: CPC (Certified Professional Coder), CCA (Certified Coding Associate), or CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) REQUIRED. RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) or RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) preferred.

Supervisory Experience: One or more years of supervisory experience in medical coding environment is preferred

Other: Must be at least 21 years of age or older and able to pass a background check and drug screen

Knowledge: Health Information Management (HIM) systems and operations. Computer literate with skill sets to work in a fast-paced environment.
