Position:
The Internist is certified and licensed by the Department of Law & Public Safety in New Jersey and the State Board of Medical Examiners to provide services. Provide diagnostic and therapeutic care to patients within Summit Oaks Hospital. The Internist shall provide senior back-up coverage and weekend coverage as assigned by Hospital’s Medical Director and /or Hospital’s CEO/Managing Director. Shall provide administrative services as enumerated and carry an appropriate inpatient and/or outpatient caseload as assigned by Medical Director and/or Hospital’s CEO/Managing Director. The Internist will attend 75% of physician meetings and 75% of MedExec meetings.

Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree
Graduate of an accredited medical school; completed residency, Board Certification
Valid and current license to practice medicine in the State of NJ; current narcotics numbers as issued by the State of NJ and USDEA.
Experience:
3 – 5 year of related work experience required
Skills and Knowledge:
- Experienced in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care
- Well-developed skills in integrating individual treatment approaches into treatment milieu
- Understands need for and maintains appropriate confidentiality at all times when interacting with patients, families, visitors and all other contacts
- Good working relationships with other attending physicians and staff.
- Promotes a safe work environment for self, patients and coworkers by complying with environment of care, safety, infection control and universal precaution guidelines
- Complies with standards of ethics practice. Seeks out sources to address ethical concerns as they relate to patient care
- Demonstrates competency in; Annual Infection Control/Universal Precaution Training, Annual Environment of Care/Fire Safety Training, Annual Clinical Crisis Therapeutic Intervention, Biomedical Equipment Training as needed
- Complies with hospital policies and Medical Staff Bylaws, rules and regulations.
