 Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center (VBPC) is a 100-bed freestanding psychiatric hospital located near the beautiful resort area of Virginia Beach, Virginia; a short 10-minute drive to the ocean front. VBPC offers acute psychiatric and substance abuse services for adults 18 years and older. The hospital is accessible 24 hours a day for admissions, and includes mental health assessments and an excellent referral network. Treatment programs and specialty services at VBPC include substance abuse, dual diagnosis and partial hospitalization. Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center currently has an opening for a Day shift Housekeeper. Candidates must be available to work weekends and holidays. This is a Full Time Day position. The candidate selected will be responsible for the following: Serves as an active member of the environmental service/housekeeping department. Maintains a therapeutic relationship with patients. Assists in maintaining a safe, clean therapeutic environment. Maintain the facility in a clean, sanitary, orderly and attractive condition to provide a suitable environment for patient, staff and visitors.

The following are the job requirements for the Housekeeper position: 

• High School graduate, GED or equivalent experience.
• One or more years housekeeping experience preferred.
• Must possess knowledge of mopping, buffing, stripping, polishing vinyl and tile floors, shampooing carpets, lifting and moving furniture and ability to use cleaning equipment and compounds.
• Able to follow written and oral instructions.
