University Behavioral Center, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc. Our mental health facility provides safe and effective inpatient treatment to assist individuals in leading more productive and fulfilling lives. The facility is located on a beautiful 14-acre campus in Orlando, Florida, and includes 112 licensed beds. We are currently seeking qualified professionals with active/clear license in the state of Florida. Previous experience in a psychiatric facility or rehabilitation program is required.
Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) Position Summary:
Working under the direction of the CNO, the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) is responsible for ensuring coordinated delivery of patient care to patients. The ideal candidate for this role will be a nurse leader who comes from a strong background in leadership and possesses knowledge of psychiatric nursing. Our continuum of care includes inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services to stabilize symptoms of depression, anxiety, and other behavioral health disorders.
Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) Key Responsibilities Include:
- Reporting to the CNO, the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) is responsible for ensuring high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management as related to patient care.
- Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, DCF and all other applicable regulatory standards; provide education to nursing department staff as required.
- Participate in the nursing leadership team by assisting in the development of nursing policies and procedures.
- In consultation with the CNO and Staffing Coordinator, assist in determining staffing needs and core staff requirements; demonstrate an understanding of FTE management in relation to patient acuity and census.

Qualifications
Education/Training:
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing required or equivalent combination of education and experience in psychiatric nursing management; Bachelor’s Degree required.
- A minimum of five (2) years of experience in nursing administration and/or dedicated Leadership experience in psychiatric nursing.
- CPR certification upon hire, and successful completion of training in Handle with Care within 30 days of employment, and prior to assisting in restraining procedures
- Current license to practice nursing in Florida or compact privileges.
- Current CPR or BLS certification.
