ASSESSMENT/INTAKE SPECIALIST

Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center is a 118 bed Acute Psychiatric Hospital and Residential Treatment Center for children and adolescents ages four through eighteen. The 55,000 square foot facility is situated on approximately 10 acres in the southeast corner of Alabama, less than 20 miles from both Florida and Georgia. In addition to the living units, the facility houses the New Day Academy; a state-supported year-round K-12th grade school with vocational opportunities.  The hospital employs approximately 195 staff members.

Laurel Oaks is searching for an Assessment/Intake Specialist (Admissions Clinician) to join our team. The Admissions Clinician provides in-person level of care determinations and crisis intervention, initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and intake process, determines appropriate level of care, facilitates the admission process and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff.  This position is Full time, M-F 11p-7a.

• Masters Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or related field required. Or Registered Nurse required. 
• Two years or more counseling experience preferably in a general psychiatric setting (outpatient or inpatient) and crisis intervention.
