Duties
- Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision, creativity, and attention to detail
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation in all food preparation areas
- Develop new sushi recipes and presentation techniques to enhance menu offerings
- Manage ingredient inventory, ensure freshness, and minimize waste through efficient stock rotation
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal timing and ensure smooth service flow
- Train junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and presentation standards
- Ensure all dishes are consistently prepared according to established recipes and quality specifications
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role in a fast-paced culinary environment
- Extensive knowledge of Japanese cuisine, sushi techniques, and ingredient handling
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cutting techniques for seafood and vegetables
- Ability to develop creative sushi presentations and menu items
- Excellent understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation practices
- Experience working with fresh seafood, including proper storage and handling procedures
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to train and mentor junior staff
- Passion for culinary arts, especially in creative food presentation and innovation
