The Vice President of Strategy is a senior executive responsible for developing, advancing, and operationalizing the strategic direction of UF Health’s Clinical Enterprise. This leader will champion enterprise-wide strategic planning, market positioning, and long-term growth efforts. Working closely with executive leadership, the VP will lead a systemwide strategy function that integrates data-driven decision-making, prioritization frameworks, and cross-regional alignment to support UF Health’s mission and transformation agenda.
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & System Alignment
- Lead the development and execution of the Clinical Enterprise’s strategic plan in collaboration with senior and regional leadership.
- Facilitate systemwide strategic planning processes and oversee integrated annual planning cycles.
- Promote strategic alignment across regions, departments, and clinical service lines to drive growth and value-based transformation.
Enterprise Strategy Execution
- Establish and oversee planning infrastructure, tools, and governance processes to ensure accountability and transparency.
- Coordinate strategic goal tracking and system performance reporting for leadership and governance bodies.
- Manage cross-functional initiatives that advance enterprise transformation and market leadership.
Market Intelligence & Growth Prioritization
- Evaluate current market intelligence tools, data sources, and vendor contracts for alignment and optimization.
- Develop a standardized market intelligence reporting format and systemwide sharing cadence.
- Complete a comprehensive assessment of UF Health’s markets and emerging trends.
Growth Strategy & Service Line Development
- Design and implement a standardized framework for growth planning and prioritization across the system.
- Aggregate and assess existing service line and regional growth plans, investments, and tactics.
- Co-lead the establishment of a Clinical Enterprise Strategy Council to guide strategic priorities and engagement.
Strategic Partnerships
- Support the evaluation and analysis of key strategic partnerships, including joint ventures, mergers, and acquisitions.
- Collaborate with legal, financial, and operational leaders to ensure due diligence and integration planning.
Initial Priorities (First 12 Months):
- Optimize Market Intelligence Infrastructure:
- Standardize reporting and cadence for market and trend data across UF Health.
- Evaluate existing tools and contracts; deliver a current state market assessment.
- Establish Growth Planning Framework:
- Develop a systemwide prioritization model for growth strategies and service lines.
- Inventory and align existing growth investments and initiatives.
- Launch Clinical Enterprise Strategy Council:
- Co-develop the council’s structure and charter, lead engagement with key stakeholders.
- Lead Systemwide Strategic Planning Process:
- Partner with EVP to initiate and guide the next enterprise-wide strategic planning cycle.
- Advance Strategic Partnership Planning:
- Provide strategic support and analysis for potential partnerships and affiliations.
Qualifications
Education:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Public Health, or a related field required.
Experience:
- 8–10 years of progressive leadership experience in health system strategy, planning, transformation, or corporate development.
- Proven ability to lead strategic planning efforts in a complex, multi-entity healthcare environment.
Skills and Competencies:
- Expertise in strategic frameworks, data analysis, and market evaluation.
- Ability to foster collaboration and influence across a matrixed organization.
- Excellent executive communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong understanding of healthcare trends, systems integration, and value-based care models.
