Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Department Manager and in association with the radiologist, the ultrasound supervisor performs routine, emergent and specialized sonographic examinations, provides patient care and exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures. The ultrasound supervisor maintains records and monitors quality control and quality assurance. They conduct themselves in a professional manner, responding to patient needs and supporting their colleagues in providing quality patient care. The ultrasound supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Ultrasound Department.
Qualifications
Education:
- Post High School Special Training
- Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- ARRT or Vascular Certification within 6 months, which is either RVT (through ARDMS) or RVS (through CCI)
- BLS
Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required:
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Management, problem solving and organizational skills
