Overview
Assists with the coordination of provider credentialing and re-credentialing processes including verification of information, preparation, and maintenance of credentialing files required by regulatory requirements, and entry of information into the credentialing database.
Qualifications
Required Education: High School Diploma or GED with knowledge of medical terminology required.
Preferred Education: Associate's Degree
Necessary Skills: Type 50 correct words per minute Knowledge on word processing programs and exposure to other software programs (databases, spreadsheets, etc)
Possess organization and communication skills and be detailed oriented Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects at the same time Ability to operate office equipment
Preferred Licensure/Certifications: Certified as a CPCS Required Experience: 1 to 2 years of secretarial and/or administrative experience in a healthcare setting (hospital, clinic, doctor's office). Bachelor's degree will be accepted in lieu of 1-2 years' experience. Preferred Experience: Two to three years credentialing physicians or allied health professionals in a healthcare setting (hospital, managed care company, or insurance company)
