Performs diversified technical and clinical responsibilities in the cardiac catheterization laboratory.
Qualifications
Age of Patients Served: Adult (18-64 years) Geriatric (=>65 years) Required Education: High School Diploma or GED. Specific course work: Graduate of Cardiovascular Program, or in lieu of degree have 10 years of experience in the Invasive Cath Lab Preferred Education: Graduate CVT program with a RCIS certification. Necessary Skills: �Use of good radiographic techniques to reduce radiation exposure to patient and personnel. �Good communication skills. �Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology (adult). �Be able to use hospital computer system. �Knowledge of filing system. �Ability to prepare procedure tray/equipment and maintain sterility �Knowledge of body techniques and ability to use good body mechanics. �Ability to initiate appropriate patient charge. �Proficiency in using Cath lab equipment. �Patient advocate skills. Required Licensure/Certifications: BLS from the American Heart Association ACLS from the American Heart Association Within 6 months of hire or transfer into the position, must be Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Required Experience: Less than 1 year experience in cardiac cath labs and/or direct patient care
