Responsibilities
The Biomedical Technician (BMET) position is a highly technical position supporting the installation, repair, preventive maintenance (PM), calibration, and electrical safety testing (EST) of medical equipment. This position requires advanced technical skills and the ability to analyze difficult situations and produce positive results. They may be given committee assignments, specialized duty assignments, and act as department representative in the manager's absence. BMETs are expected to be knowledgeable of State, Federal, and The Joint Commission requirements and regulations pertaining to Biomedical Engineering. The person in this role will be expected to provide support to the biomedical equipment users at all UF Health Central Florida facilities. A valid Florida Driver's license and the ability to drive between campuses in order to support the clinical equipment located throughout the facilities is required. These campuses are not within walking distance.

Qualifications
- Education
- Associates Degree, AS or AA in Biomedical Engineering or certificate of training from the military’s Biomedical Equipment Maintenance program.
- Licensure/Certification/Registration
- CBET certification preferred, not required
- Valid Driver's License - This position is required to drive a company vehicle and must meet the requirements of UF Health Central Florida Vehicle Policy.
- Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, and MediMizer software.
