UEI is a leading tool and die shop specializing in the simulation, design, and build of progressive, line, and transfer dies for the metal stamping industry. With advanced in-house capabilities—including CNC machining, wire EDM, and a 126" x 78" bridge mill—we support complex tooling programs from concept to completion.
Position Overview:
We’re seeking an experienced Die Designer to join our growing engineering team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing a variety of dies from start to finish, including concept development, strip layout, 3D design, and detailed die drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design progressive, line, and transfer dies from start to finish.
- Create complete 3D models and detailed 2D prints for tool build.
- Develop and optimize strip layouts for manufacturability and efficiency.
- Work closely with simulation engineers, toolmakers, and program managers to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Collaborate in design reviews and support tool tryout when needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency with VISI Design software (or similar CAD systems).
- Die simulation experience is a major plus.
- Strong understanding of metal stamping, die construction, and part forming principles.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Compensation:
