What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account Manager position at UCW Logistics LLC?
The Account Manager is responsible for the retention of existing accounts and the development of additional accounts. This position must focus on revenue growth with existing accounts through the development of new lanes and business segments. Account Managers must continually develop new accounts on a regular basis to maintain the growth of the business.
The Account Manager will source, secure and manage the transportation needs for new and existing customers. This includes daily conversations about freight lanes, rates and solutions has to offer. Consistently adding new customers, growing current accounts and current account modes of transportation is an essential function of Account Managers.
This position is based in Kernersville, NC.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to understand their transportation needs and provide effective solutions.
- Develop and implement strategies to maximize revenue and profitability for assigned accounts.
- Source and secure freight from customers utilizing creative methods including but not limited to: Internet searches, Past Contacts, Website leads, and Business Development leads.
- Monitor shipment progress by tracking and tracing freight to ensure timely delivery and troubleshoot issues.
- Work with carriers to negotiate rates, ensure compliance with regulations, and manage necessary paperwork.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing any customer or carrier concerns or questions.
- Ensure that all necessary documentation, such as bills of lading and invoices, is completed accurately and on time.
- Analyze market trends and industry changes to identify potential areas for improvement and cost savings.
- Develop and maintain relationships with industry professionals to stay up to date on industry trends and best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in freight brokerage, customer service, and/or operations in the logistics industry required.
- Basic understanding of brokerage operations and geographic freight markets.
- Experience with McLeod and/or Transportation Management Systems is helpful.
- Prior demonstration of effective negotiation skills.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
- Great telephone presentation and communication skills.
- Excellent written skills.
- Ability to maintain focus and productivity in a moderately stressful environment.
- Proficient computer skills and operational knowledge of internet, email and other Microsoft products.
Salary : $45,000 - $60,000
